Message from Jim Young, President – Frankston Wine and Food Society
At these uncertain times with COVID-19 now a reality prompting Government actions, the Board of the Frankston Wine & Food Society recognises that it will be some time before things get back to normal.
Therefore our Autumn Lunch with All Saints Estate scheduled to be held at the Girl & Bull in Mt Eliza has been postponed until the second half of the year. At this stage a new date cannot be provided. We will need to wait for advice from governments and health authorities as to when the peak of the pandemic has been reached before we can proceed
As a token of our appreciation of your loyalty the Board has decided that your membership of the Society will be extended from the end of this calendar year through until 30 June 2021. We appreciate your support and are keen for members to be involved even when we are unable to enjoy our normal functions.
To finish on a really positive note the recent sale of Mystery Wines was a great success. The 15 available boxes of 6 bottles of wine sold quickly and feedback has been received from a number of members expressing delight with the quality and value of the wines they received. At $50 a box this was a real bargain.
The Board will continue to work on the provision of further exclusive offers to members, and in this regard, it is anticipated that an announcement will be made in early May. Hopefully the whole wine and hospitality industry will soon be in a position to re-open for business and once again provide employment for the many thousands currently affected.
In the meantime keep safe and I look forward to us coming together to enjoy good wine and food as soon as it is appropriate.
President – Frankston Wine and Food Society
